Life cycle analysis by the Energy Evolution Center

The Energy Evolution Center at the property Väduren 18 is a good example of an energy- and climate-smart building.

The life cycle analysis of the building where the Model Factory was housed shows that renovation is more energy and climate efficient than new construction.

The analysis shows that large emissions can be avoided by renovating instead of demolishing and building new. This is also something that is in line with the EU's conclusions regarding the need for renovation and energy efficiency improvements.

In addition, the building has solar cells, battery storage, demand-controlled ventilation and LED lighting, reused furniture and much more.

Barkmans Färg switches to LED

Barkmans Färg is gradually replacing all lighting with LED, which is a good effort for both energy efficiency and cost reduction.

The Swedish Energy Agency blocks out sunlight and avoids the need for cooling

The Energy Agency has installed facade glass from Chromogenics in the entrance to the office premises on Väster in Eskilstuna. Thanks to this, they avoid solar radiation and thus also the need for energy-consuming cooling. Here you can read more about Chromogenics.

Amsta has adapted the compressor as needed

Amsta previously had a compressor that was oversized based on the current need for compressed air, they changed to one that is better adapted and got good results in terms of energy use.

Berglunds Åkeri runs on ethanol

Berglunds Åkeri wants to be at the forefront when it comes to the environment and has invested in three ethanol trucks.

By switching to Ethanol (ED95), they have reduced their climate impact by approx. 58 tonnes of CO2 per year, or a percentage decrease of almost 60%.

SmartFront creates energy-smart properties

Smartfront improves the environment

Smartfront is a unique ventilation solution that, in a smart and simple way, upgrades the ventilation in existing properties that also need additional insulation. The system upgrades the environment for residents and reduces heating costs, which reduces negative environmental impact. Smartfront improves profitability for property owners by recycling air and can reduce heating costs by up to 50%.

SmartFront's office is located in the Energy Evolution Center, Kungsgatan 61 in Eskilstuna.

Bygg & Miljö specializes in the installation of solar cells

Bygg och Miljö Mälardalen has specialized in the assembly of solar cells and has since the beginning assembled and installed many complete solar cell systems. They can offer complete solutions for solar cell projects and have a close collaboration with Eco power, an Eskilstuna-based supplier of solar cells.

Johnson & Son has installed LEDs and motion sensors

Johnson & Son is gradually changing its lighting to LED and has installed motion sensors in suitable places in its premises.

Ecokraft supplies solar cells

Ecokraft designs and installs complete solar cell systems, battery storage solutions and charging infrastructure for homes, farms and businesses. Ecokraft has a close collaboration with Construction & Environment Mälardalen for the installation of solar cells.

Alvenius pipe system with low energy consumption

Alvenius FlowMax®- pipes with a larger inner diameter and low internal friction provide low flow resistance, which enables up to 50 % lower energy consumption. Alvenius surface coatings provide a long service life.

Alvenius spiral welded FlowMax®-tubes are strong and at the same time light because the wall thickness is thin. Lighter pipes enable more pipes per transport, which results in lower carbon dioxide emissions. The steel is produced with 7 % less carbon dioxide than the EU average. The goal is that steel production can become completely fossil-free before 2045. Alvenius FlowMax®- pipes are made from 100 % recyclable Swedish steel. Alvenius has offices and manufacturing in the heart of the Energy Evolution District in Eskilstuna.
